Inexperienced interviewers. This is a young company, be ready to report to young / inexperienced management. But there are plenty of degrees.
The "Uber Engineer" title seems to be indicative of their inability to forecast technical need. They just want someone who can do anything.
It was a very nice experience and they were very professional. The word count on this makes me have to write a lot more than I need to to describe this interview so there is extra word buffers here.

Interview
I was contacted by someone at Synthego to gauge my interest in applying for this role. It seemed interesting so I agreed to a phone screen. The phone screen was pretty standard, about 45 minutes long, and served to get me familiar with the company and what they were looking for. We both agreed that I could be a good fit for the role and I was brought in for a 2 hour on site interview. The questions were of the standard variety: "tell us about your experience" and "what could you bring to this role". Again, things went well and I left feeling pretty good about the experience. I was told I would hear back in a couple of weeks because they were moving slow which I understood and I was fine with it. The (big) negative is that I never heard back, not even after I emailed them (twice over 2 more weeks) to politely follow up. I understand that people are busy at startups, I've worked in them most of my professional career but it would take them not even 5 minutes for them to REPLY to my email. I wasted a half day off work for this place and they clearly don't have any professional consideration for their interviewees. I would not recommend working for Synthego- I can't imagine they have much consideration for anyone including (prospective) employees. Consider this bridge burned.
