I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at TMX Group (Toronto, ON) in Aug 2012
Interview
Two rounds of interview. HR filters the resumes for supervisors to decide who to interview. First met with HR, then met with direct supervisor and senior supervisor. HR asks standard canned questions (they have a list). Supervisor will ask specifics about work experience plus they want to get to know you as a person.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
HR asks standard questions (what are your strengths, your weaknesses, the typical interview questions). Supervisor asks more about your resume, your experience, where do you see yourself in x years, what are your hobbies and interests).
4 rounds of interviews:
1) HR Phone Interview - Fairly straight forward, pleasant.
2) Hiring Manager - Video call interview with the hiring manager. Standard interview, nothing overly technical. Fine interview.
3) Other Stakeholders Interview - Video call interview with a group of people. Very friendly people, good interview.
4) Other Stakeholder Interview - Video interview with another stakeholder. Fine interview, friendly person.
The bad parts:
1) This whole interview process took over 2 months. Weeks and weeks of radio-silence between interviews.
2) Ghosted. I went through 4 rounds of interviews without even hearing from TMX to tell me I didn’t get the job. I even followed up with them and was ignored. After 4 rounds of interviews, I frankly find that quite rude and unprofessional.
