I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Tails.com (Richmond upon Thames, England) in Sept 2019
Interview
Very fast process from application to offer. Started with a 30 min phone chat with a team lead, next was a code test (about 90 to 180 minutes of work), lastly a interview split into three sections with a total of 5 people. That lasts 2.5 hours but I stayed closer to 3 because we were having a great time chatting.
Applied through web and got email to arrange for initial phone interview. There wasn't much technical interview questions during the phone call. It was more about who you are and your past job experience. The interviewer will also explain the company and also the working environment and vibe. The call was around 1 hour. After that was a take home test. This is were they will examine the technical skills you have and your coding styles and practices.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Using python to set up a Restful API according to their requirements. The specs you can find in their github under coding-test-pricing-service. I used Django for the home test. However I think I didn't do well as my code lacks comments/ documentation and test cases.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Tails.com (Heathrow, England) in Mar 2019
Interview
A 30 min introductory phone call with the team manager where we spoke a bit about why I wanted to leave my current position and the type of company Tails was. This was followed by a take home test of moderate difficulty, a good challenge but one I felt was a good test of competency. This was followed by a 3 hour technical interview where I met and spoke to everyone who worked on the team I was interviewing to join. Then followed a 3hour culture fit/ semi technical interview where i got to meet and talk to other people in the business and get an idea of what other parts of the company did.
