I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Talbots (College Station, TX) in Sept 2019
Interview
asked very typical questions for retail such as leadership style, times with difficult customers, disagreements within your current company, strengths, weaknesses, salary etc. it was professional, but not overly formal or difficult.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Talbots (Chicago, IL) in Dec 2017
Interview
I received an email inviting me to schedule a phone interview. It took almost a week of emailing back and forth with the manager to schedule a time. My availability was very open, but she seemed unorganized and emailed me at odd hours. When we finally had the phone interview scheduled, she still ended up pushing it back by an hour on the day of. The phone interview ended up being a complete waste of time for both me and the interviewer. My background was not at all a match for the position. I completely understand that I wasn't a match, but this was very frustrating because it would have been very obvious that my background was not what they were looking for if the manager had simply read my resume. And for some reason, even after we agreed that this was not a good fit, the interview continued to waste time by chatting and telling me all about Talbots anyway.
