I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Tavant in July 2021
Interview
I received a call from a recruitment agency about the opportunity.
The interview was scheduled for a Saturday afternoon. It was a video call.
When the interview joined there was a lot of background noise. Apparently, his family was in that room. It was a disaster.
He started by asking about OOP concepts. There was so much disturbance from his end that I could hardly hear him and because of the noise, I was distracted in giving my answers.
Next, he gave me to write some codes in Python. It was the only good part.
Next was Sparkconcepts: It was a disaster because he was distracted. He was hardly listening to my answers.
Finally, He asked me to write a scenario-based code in Spark. I wrote that and I was explaining to him the code when he left the meeting without any warning.
I waited for 15-20 minutes before dropping.
My advice to Tavant will be to send competent interviewers who are really interested to take the interview. Don't waste a candidate's valuable time.
in total 3 rounds all technical. mostly around sql, python and spark. in python and sql we need to code on some code editor and run the code. in spark it would be some optimization techniques, databricks
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tavant (New Delhi) in July 2022
Interview
HR contacted me and then after a basic profile and expectation details, I went through the Tavant interview process.
There were 3 technical and 1 managerial rounds. After clearing all the rounds, they said no budget to previously committed expected CTC.
Please make sure all this things before going through interview process or it will be waste of time.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions were mostly related to Python, SQL, AWS, ETL, Data Warehousing, Data Architecture etc.
I gave the interview after having read the other reviews here and how much I hated to believe it to be true, it turns out it is.
Interviewer started with questions which were not so relevant and then was least Interested in thrle projects i have worked for. He wanted the answer which he felt were right.
There were instances where my answers were right but he said no your answer is right but is there any other answer to it. This is not how it should be.
It was a video interview and I could hear him mock and laugh at during the interview, this should not be the case.
Someone senior from the team should take the interviews as the junior guys just think they know everything and somewhere there is an ego clash if people of same experience sit on either side of the table
