I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at TaylorMade Golf (Carlsbad, CA) in July 2024
Interview
I got an email on a Wednesday, and quickly got scheduled for the Friday of that same week for a phone screen, the recruiter even gave me tips for the next interview and told me she will let me know quickly about the next steps most likely the same day (Friday), so I send her a thank you email the same day, Friday passed, the next week passed so I reach out one week after to followed up, another week passed and followed up with her again and nothing, I think they should at least let us know if they went with a different person not just ghosting us, as I saw I was not the first one with this recruiter.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What do you know about out golfballs? What do you know the company?
Interview itself went fine. Got an email on a Tuesday requesting an interview, had it scheduled for Thursday. Very casual, pleasant HR-type questions, little to do with the actual position, more focused on company culture, but was clear about the expectations for the position: entry level, expect plenty of training, salary stuff, etc. It ended with her saying, "This interview is more to see how good a fit you are for the company culture. I see no issues, I don't see any reason you wouldn't get a second interview." I asked when I'd hear back, I was told as early as tomorrow (Friday), most likely Monday. So I wait. Monday rolls around, nothing, so I reach back out to my interviewer to say 'Thanks' and I get a quick reply that an answer is coming and they'd let me know. 2 weeks goes by, nothing, so I follow back up again, only to find out that they've moved forward with another, more experienced candidate when I got a reply. Interviewer lied through her teeth that I'd hear back quickly, that she'd let me know as soon as she knew. I'm sure it's a fine workplace, but this interaction quite frankly ruined Taylormade Golf for me. Typical HR blowhard first interview, no chance for a second one actually about my experience.
