      Application

I interviewed at TeachStart (San Diego, CA)

      Interview

I was fast-tracked directly to an online video interview. The questions were pretty standard. I was given a guide beforehand of what to expect. The interview itself included some get-to-know-questions, questions about teaching, and a short role-play activity where I prepared a self-introduction and attention-getting activity. I was asked to adjust my introduction towards a different age group audience on the spot.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

If you came into a classroom [as a substitute] and found that the students were performing a grade level or several grade levels below where they should be, what would your first thought be as to what might be the underlying issue? How would you go about helping them?
