Disappointing Recruitment Experience with Mattel and TechnoGen
I want to share my recent experience with the hiring process at Mattel, coordinated through Technogen, to inform others and highlight areas needing improvement.
Over several weeks, I participated in multiple interview rounds and a task evaluation, all of which I completed successfully with positive feedback. I was then invited for a final in-person interview, during which I received verbal confirmation of my selection and was told salary discussions would follow with a Senior Director from Technogen.
However, after engaging in negotiations, I was abruptly informed the very next day that Mattel would not be moving forward with my application; without any explanation or professional courtesy. This sudden reversal was disappointing and damaging, especially after the time and effort I invested, and it impacted my career plans and trust in the company’s hiring integrity.
This experience raises concerns about transparency, communication, and professionalism in the recruitment process. Such practices can discourage qualified candidates and tarnish a company’s reputation.
I hope Mattel and Technogen review their hiring procedures to ensure clear communication and respect for candidates’ time and commitments. Candidates deserve transparency and professionalism at every stage.
