I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Tesla (Fremont, CA) in May 2016
Interview
Process was decent: 2 phone interviews followed by an onsite interview
Maybe I was unlucky, but had a terrible experience. Rather than focusing on knowledge, plenty of useless questions were asked. Things such as "what are your weaknesses" and " where do you see yourself in 5 years" Really????
You expect me to know where I'm in 5 years whereas you guys don't even know weather you'll exist then.
Please don't get me wrong, I love Tesla and truly appreciate the technology, just hoped they had better experienced people to conduct my interview.
I get it that it's a pretty young company, but at some point you guys got to be professional in the interview process. You were hiring an experienced engineer, not an intern.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Tesla (Palo Alto, CA) in July 2024
Interview
Phone interview initially, then in person. Only did phone interview with Engineer asking about experience and talking about role. Never made it to next round since I withdrew from consideration.
