I had a 30-45 minute Zoom interview with an analyst and hiring manager. The interview itself was pleasant, and both interviewers were friendly and professional. However, my experience with the post-interview communication left much to be desired.
I was told I would hear back within a couple of weeks regarding the next steps, which if I were to make it, would be an on-site interview. After nearly 3 weeks without any update, I reached out and was informed that they were still in the process of making decisions—understandable at that point. However, this pattern continued: I followed up again a few weeks later and was told to expect an update the following month. After 3.5 months I was informed by automated email that they had decided to move forward with another candidate.
While I understand that hiring decisions can take time, I found the lack of proactive communication and the consistent delays unprofessional, especially coming from such a well-respected organization. It would have been appreciated if they had been more transparent about the timeline or changes in their hiring process. Professional courtesy should be a two-way street, and unfortunately, my experience here fell short in that regard.
