I was interviewed by Creatopy for the role of PMM and I must say it's the first time I encountered such an unprofessional treatment.
After a quite lengthy process, I was the preferred candidate to take the job. At this stage, I had a final conversation with my future manager where I was asked my financial expectations. She also communicated they would need 2 references from past managers. One would assume that if my financial expectations were totally off their budget, they would tell me at this stage, so that I do not turn down other offers or activate my past managers, right? WRONG.
The company "backstabbed" me in the most unprofessional and business unethical way I have experienced. After accepting my financial expectations verbally and receiving my references, they returned with an offer that was 20k less than what I have initially asked for, not even close to my expectations.
Any normal company would communicate this misalignment before the references and before I turn down all other offers but Creatopy didn't. I found myself in deep trouble because of their practices, basically having to start over with recruitment processes. Also, I found myself asking my past managers, very busy and high level people, to refer me to a company that I never actually worked for so I - kinda- burned the favor for Creatopy's sake.
I called them out of this and the response I received was more or less a corporate email that could be summarised in "ok thank you".
I am happy I didn't join this company and quite shocked by their practices.
