I had a screening interview for the role in early August. I thought that it went well and was invited to complete a skill assessment. I was told that I would hear in 5-7 days whether I would be moving on to an actual interview. When I did not hear from them, I followed up and was told that it would be another 5-7 days. After that, each week I received an email stating that I should hear a response the following week. Finally, a month and a half after the initial interview, I received a response - to another follow-up email that I sent - stating that I would not be moving on.
I understand that things come up, especially during a pandemic, and that it can often take teams a while to make final hiring decisions. But taking a month and a half to inform applicants whether they will be moving on is inconsiderate, especially in the current job search environment.
