Interview
I interviewed for a role at TCF in October 2025. Unfortunately, the process was beyond disappointing.
Despite being invited to discuss my fit for a specific team, the interviewer showed little interest in understanding my experience or skills. There were no substantive questions about my work or background — the entire conversation focused on “why people at organizations where you previously worked are at more senior positions than you (those with similar number of work experience)” and “how much salary are you looking at.”
When I shared my salary expectations, the interviewer remarked, “You say you’ve been in the social sector, how do you not know this is not the benchmark?” The tone felt unnecessarily condescending and dismissive. She went on to say that since I had worked with impact consulting organizations, I “can’t expect the same salary here.” It was hard to decipher whether she was implying I was overqualified or underqualified for the role.
I was then told, “We don’t have anything for you in the team you’ve applied in; we can maybe look at sister organizations.” This was confusing, given that the position was listed as open and the interview was specifically scheduled for it.
Overall, it felt like the interviewer had made up her mind before the conversation began. There was no genuine attempt to understand my experience, motivation, or alignment with the organization’s mission — something one would expect at a social impact institution.
She also mentioned that she would send me the JD later that day, but nearly two weeks have passed, and I have not received it.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at The Convergence Foundation
Interview
This is for one of the portfolio organisations. There is limited internal communication across interview rounds about candidate progress and role requirements. Please ensure there is clarity within the organisation so that it helps align expectations early on.

Interview
This review is mainly about the HR at TCF.
No respect for the candidate. No value of their time.
No feedback and no reply. Direct ghosting of candidates without even simple acknowledgement of rejection.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your experience during the interview process. At The Convergence Foundation, we aim to treat every candidate with respect and provide timely communication. Clearly, in this instance, we fell short of that standard.
We are reviewing our recruitment processes to ensure candidates receive clear updates at every stage and that interviews are conducted with greater consistency. We value the time and effort candidates put into applying and will work to improve on this front.
We appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback, as it helps us improve the experience for future candidates.
