The role was shared with me via a mutual connection and I was told they were moving quickly and would love an intro. I had a call with Jill, one of the co-founders and later that day the Chief Content Officer sent me an edit test to complete within 72 hours. I submitted the test and waited a week and a half before following up to see if the team had any feedback. I heard nothing and followed up with Jill one week later. I finally head back from the Chief Content officer 5 days later who let me know she was stepping away from her work and would loop in the Chief of Staff. Another 5 days later the Chief of Staff let me know they moved forward with another candidate. From the time I submitted my edit test to when I finally heard of their decision, a month went by. Overall my experience was pretty negative and I would have expected more, given this interview came from a mutual connection. This was especially disappointing given the amount of hours spent on the edit test, which posed questions to real company problems that they can now leverage at their discretion.
