I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Johns Hopkins University in Feb 2016
Interview
I sent out cold email to ask about the funding opening. Got a skype interview request and talked over skype for about 1hr, during which I gave a presentation about my about to finish PhD work. They know my supervisor in person but as far as I know they didn't check reference.
Great interview process. I gave a job talk. Interview questions are in line with my interests and interviewers were well informed and prepared. Overall I think it was a very good experience.

Question 1
Where would you like to be in your career in 10 years?
Initially, I had a phone interview with the employer and I was selected for the next round. The interview was conducted remotely. I have to give 30 min power point presentation. Overall, the interview process was smooth and well-planned.
I gave a research presentation in the lab meeting and then talked to every lab member to understand their projects. After the official interview, I also had dinner with them.
