I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Salvation Army (Toronto, ON) in June 2016
Interview
I found the employer website and read about the volunteer application process. They also had an online application which had to be filled out and submitted. I made sure to give them a call and introduce myself after I had sent in the online application.

Interview
It was overall quite easy and the line manager did not ask any tricky or difficult question. I passed it and went into the ‘probation’ on the same day of the interview. She did teach me a lot that day. However I have to decline the offer as the location is a little bit too far from home.

Interview
got a brief tour and had to show proof of ID. overall very chill, just asked about availability and special interests that i'd like to take into the role. chatted through communication, policies etc before asking when i'd like to start.
Went in, had a small chat then did a trial shift afterwards putting away items on the shelves. Overall, very chill experience. There was little to it - very approachable.
