I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at The Vermont Country Store (Manchester Center, VT) in Aug 2013
Interview
Applied for a position for which I met all of the qualifications listed on the job description. I was called by them to set up a phone interview with their hiring manager. The call came to me at about 40 minutes past the scheduled time. The questions were aggressive and rushed. Somehow I did manage to answer all well and was asked to come in for a face to face interview. On the appointed day I arrived 10 minutes early and was made to wait for 35 minutes. I was interviewed for another hour and then taken on a lengthy tour of the entire facility. We then sat for about another 45 minute interview which seemed to go very well. I was offered on the spot a very lesser position that the one I was interviewing for which surprised me. Why would I want the lesser position? Then I was told I was an excellent candidate and would be brought back to meet with the staff the position would be working with and reporting to. NEVER HEARD ANOTHER WORD FROM THEM!!! I sent a thank you email, and still never heard a thing.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why do you think you are qualified to do this job? (Even though we had interviewed for hours at this point!) They pointed out that I had never actually been an "assistant buyer" even thought I met all the qualifications on the job description. I pointed this out, and they said "oh that's an error, haha"
