I interviewed at The Washington Institute for Near East Policy
Interview
In person interview with two fellows. They asked if I knew Arabic and proceeded to print an Arabic article from the news online and asked me to explain it in English.

Interview
I have interviewed at the Washington Institute twice for two different positions. In both cases, my male interviewers made condescending and patronizing remarks, such as asking me, ‘what do you want to be when you grow up?’ (I am a woman in my twenties) or ‘so you’ve just rattled off a lot of experience’ leaving the impression this is a place that I would not be taken seriously.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Washington Institute for Near East Policy
Interview
Applied online. Interviews were Very easy and informal. Met with two folks and should have met with another person before I rescinded my application. Interviews were mainly me walking them through my resume. Did not have any STAR questions for me which was a red flag.
What made me rescind my application was the "homework" I was assigned to do prospect research. I am not entry-level, so I knew this is not common practice in this industry. Being asked to do pro bono work during interview process is a red flag.
