The interview itself isn't all too bad. However, with only one employee in HR (Oregon Location), the rest of the process took over a month. After accepting their offer letter and asking about my first day, I was ghosted for about a week.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at The Y (YMCA) (Boise, ID) in Sept 2013
Interview
They will greet you, but will say they need to finish up something in their office quickly. This is a ploy to make you sit in the lobby and people watch, so don't mess around on your phone or anything of the like. The want to know how capable you are of interacting with individuals and how your treatment of others lines up with the Y's core values.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
"If a member asks you about a program that you don't know anything about, and you are unable to get an answer from any other resources, what do you tell that individual?"
Panel interview, never heard from them again. Phone screening and interview with 3 people, went well and good conversation. Did not hear back at all, not even rejection. I have to write 30 words
I applied online. I interviewed at The Y (YMCA) (Lincoln, NE) in June 2024
Interview
Easy and straightforward. Basic interview questions about why you want to work at the Y, a time you’ve had good customer service, what you expect the job to entail, etc.
