I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at The Y (YMCA) (Memphis, TN) in May 2014
Interview
I called the YMCA to find out if they were hiring and was immediately invited in for an interview. It was a very casual interview where the hiring manager asked if I had any lifeguarding experience, which I didn't, if I had the correct certificates, which I did, and if I had a flexible schedule. I was then told to go take a drug test following the interview, and a few days later I received a call from the YMCA asking me to come in to fill out the new hire paperwork.
Smooth and welcoming. The interaction was positive and conversation flowed nicely throughout. I felt like my answers were being listened to, and that the interviewers were very engaged with me and what I had to say.

Question 1
What my background was and how it would fit into this role
very good. good people there who work there and i like to work there because it is very fun being outside and talking with good people and free popsicles and the interviewer was nice and respectful and all oof that.
The interview process was overall easy. You just need to have your certifications, you need to pass a breathing test, and you need to pass a swim test. Pretty easy interview.
