Initial interview with recruiter. Second interview with hiring manager via phone. Third interview was onsite and was two parts: alone with hiring manager, followed by an interview with two others that included an Sr. Analyst and head of Operations.
Overall went very well. The hiring manager was slightly negative about the position, the company systems, processes etc. She apologized for being negative during the interview. She also had a negative comment about my resume format which was as unnecessary to say as her other negative comments but I let that slide.
Overall after hearing so much about how positive a company Zappos is, and after being so thrilled about the prospect of working for this company to the point I was considering a pay cut, I was shocked at the attitude! Perhaps the term jaded would fit here?
I left knowing that this was not my next manager. I hope the person who filled this role has much success!
I believe they asked a few questions (like what would your fight song be) just to try to keep up that culture vibe Zappos is supposed to have. Unfortunately I didn't feel that from most of those I came into contact with. It felt somewhat stiff and old school. Nowhere near the ground breaking embrace your weird culture I was expecting!
