I applied online. I interviewed at TheNewsletterPro in Dec 2024
Interview
I had a quick 10 minute interview with a hiring coordinator followed by another 15 minute interview with someone else. I was then asked to interview the hiring coordinator who acted as a CEO. After the interview, I had three hours to write an article for a newsletter.
Beforehand, I was given examples of the client for voice and tone, although they failed to send them to be and I had to ask for them.
Usually I do these kinds of writing tests after I know the job's salary and more about the job itself. Not much was disclosed to me. Frankly, I would have preferred they had been upfront about the job before a took so much time out of my day to write for a job I didn't get.
I can't put my finger on it, but there's something sketchy about this place... maybe it's a good job for a novice writer but I've been around the block a few times.
It was awesome! It was a round-robin, so I got to meet many current employees and there was a positive overtone to the whole meeting. Everyone was very chill but professional, so it made it really easy to just have a light conversation.

Interview
It was fairly straight forward. After submitting my resume they emailed me about setting up a zoom meeting. I had a few meetings after the initial meeting with various other Project Managers and other staff before being hired.

Question 1
I was given a fairly simple test to show my project management skills. It took about 30 minutes and it was timed, but I was able to finish the test and review my work in plenty of time.
