They asked questions regarding C++. A question regarding pointers, syntax errors, debugging and solving math outputs. There were some questions about UML and some behavioral and situational questions too. Mainly focused on customer satisfaction and responses. Finally a few questions on ARINC 429, AFDX, CanBus, RS422, etc. As an anglophone and visible minority there was even a test on French level.

I have done 2 interviews at CAE and both have been rejected both times. The questions are basically well structured and fairly simple. They engineers and managers are impressed when they see the resume and talk with the person, but once they see the person they are totally put off. People who worked in this industry would be able to answer the communication protocol answers which I could. But looks like they are looking for more francophone. They say they are diverse but the whole crowd I see at CAE is mildly diverse which I feel is a really sad environment to work in. If they are not inclusive and giving various ethnicity a chance then this company does not stand up to what they claim. They don't even want to give a change to anglophones, they are the least preferred even if we say we could do some learning in French. I guess this is only problem at Montreal offices. Not sure if it has to do with racism or linguistic discrimination.
