First part of the interview process was a zoom meeting with a recruiter. It was a behavioral interview with questions that need to be answered in the STAR format. This lady was very nice and I had a great experience with her. The second part of the interview was genuinely terrible. It is 90 minutes long, and they have you do more behavioral questions, a short verbal presentation on what private equity firms do, a case study, a mock cold call, and a mock client call. There was three people on the call with me and everyone seemed robotic and uninterested in the interview. They ask you a ton of questions regarding the case study and although there are several different directions you could take their vague questions, they are looking for a specific answer. They want you to do their mock calls but they do not tell you the structure they use or how they want you to handle the call, they just expected me to know. It was an extremely frustrating experience. I am all game for a comprehensive interview that takes you through the nitty gritty, but their attitudes and expectations for an entry level role was kind of absurd to me.
