I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Thrivent (Appleton, WI) in June 2015
Interview
I met with the outgoing manager and a direct report, where I was asked a series of questions. It was standard interview fare that you can find on many websites. What is your greatest strength/weakness, etc. Next I met with the hiring director one on one. Their focus was on motivation and getting the most out of direct reports. Very nice people and polite throughout the process. Be prepared for their questions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you motivate the team to get maximum results from them?
What resources do you use to stay up to date on industry trends and changes?
Prework assignment, two in person interviews - one with the person I would be reporting to and another with a panel. Prework was also discussed in the interview. Seemed the interview process was pretty well practiced.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Thrivent (Detroit, MI)
Interview
At the time, the interview process was extensive. It took me 5 interviews and 3 months before I was hired. The external recruiter was great, the hiring managers were great (and still are) the internal recruiter was a bit too skeptical.
