I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at TikTok in July 2020
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn who was hiring for this specific role. I replied immediately and we set up a phone call for the next day. The recruiter was very nice, easy to get along with, and explained the team setup thoroughly. At the end of the call, she said she’d have a coordinator get in touch and set up a Zoom interview with the hiring manager. They were quick to respond and set up a meeting just a couple days later. The call with the hiring manager was a bit disappointing as it felt rushed and more like a one-way conversation rather than a dialogue. They fired some questions at me one by one, which weren’t too difficult but felt odd. There was hardly any time left at the end for me to ask any questions, and the interviewer hadn’t given any kind of overview of the role. I was hoping they would, as the recruiter could only speak so much as to the details of the position (and said the hiring manager would have more info). I received an email a few days later letting me know I was not selected to move forward.
Overall, the process was simple and moved very quickly as they had a need to fill the role soon. There were some quirks, like getting automated emails from ByteDance asking for feedback on interviews. The recruiter was also a little vague about the interview process/speaking to random team members that didn’t really align with the role, which seems in line with other interview experiences on here.

Question 1
What are two things you are proud to have accomplished in your career so far?
Hr called me, asked me a few questions, intro, why you leave your current company, are you actively looking for new opportunities etc. The interview progress is smooth, and pass me to hiring manager round very smoothly.
5 stages, very long process but they do it quickly if they want you. good compensation, very good benifits. the interviews are also not horrid, they ask reasonable questions. oh my god why does it need to be so long
The interview process for the Account Manager role at TikTok was straightforward and professional. It began with an initial recruiter screen, followed by a more technical round focused on account management. The team provided clear insights into their structure and expectations, making the entire experience feel organized and transparent from start to finish.
