I applied online. I interviewed at TikTok (Shna Khula) in Jan 2022
Interview
Initial Screening: The first step is often a phone or video call with a recruiter or hiring manager. This conversation will focus on your background and experience, and help determine if you are a good fit for the role. Product Case Study: Many companies, including TikTok, will ask candidates to complete a product case study. This involves analyzing a hypothetical product problem or opportunity and presenting a solution. The case study may be completed on your own time or during an onsite interview. Onsite Interview: If you pass the initial screening and complete the product case study, you will likely be invited for an onsite interview. This may include several rounds of interviews with various stakeholders, including other product managers, designers, engineers, and executives. The onsite interview may also include a whiteboard exercise, where you are asked to solve a product problem in real-time.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What motivated you to apply for a Product Manager role at TikTok? Can you describe a product that you launched in the past and its impact on the market? How do you prioritize feature development and determine which features to launch first? How do you gather and analyze user feedback to inform product decisions? How do you collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as designers and engineers, to ensure successful product launches?
They arranged 3 rounds of interviews with all team members, not the hiring manager. I felt like it was not the typical process because one of them said they were changing the direction of this role.

Question 1
A really technical case and how to solve the pain point.
There are in total 4rounds including 2 rounds with senior peers and 1 round with +1 and round with HR, not that difficult. But I think the experience match is most important……..
4 interviews
- Recruiter screening
- HM interview
- Peer Interview
- Functional interview
Each round has around 45 minutes. Case and BQ are heavy, and the interviewers will leave 5-10 minutes for questions toward the end of the session
