I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tintri
Interview
The recruiter approached me from Linked-in. After talking him on a call discussing backgrounds on both sides, he wanted me to have a tech screening with a certain director level guy.
The phone screening is where it ended. The guy asked me to traverse a graph for him on phone.
I know we should expect anything and everything in an interview. But for a Javascript phone screening, it came to me as a surprise that we were discussing graph theory. Anyway, I started off with loud thinking on what I would do. Literally he got hung up on my first sentence when I said that I will store any node from the graph in a stack. I was loud thinking trying to form a pseudo algorithm similar to either DFS or BFS. But the guy was rude and told me that recruiter would contact me if there are next steps.
I have been giving awesome coding based interviews, and usually everyone in the industry is respectful even if we don't agree on something. Honestly I felt disrespected the way this Tintri guy acted and ended the call. The question was not even difficult, but the guy acted like his time is more important and I know nothing without even putting an effort to listen to me completely. He should have appreciated that I was trying to loud think and trying to walk him through my thinking process, but nope, he ended the call in less than 2 minutes of asking that graph traversal question...
As someone into Javascript and Node.js, I would never recommend to try for Tintri.
