There was no HR or recruiter interview. The interview took place with two of the managers (product and innovation). It was supposed to be a 30-minute design test based on a problem statement to be solved through the design process; in fact, it ended up with a screen design with all the features that were already decided, which in my opinion is not considered the best approach to evaluate the product design process. After the 30 minutes design (With a shared screen), we had 30 minutes discussion about the design that was done.
Interviewers were very friendly.
As I said before, I don't consider the approach for this interview a best practice. Also, the examiner/interviewer seemed a little biased about their existing design.
Based on my experience, I believe the company is not ready "yet" to make fundamental product design changes, thus, a UI designer seem more suitable for the companies state of project, compared to a 0-1 product designer. In a short term, a product designer might not be the best fit for the company's status and expectations.
