      Office Manager Interview

      23 Mar 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Topgolf in Feb 2015

      Interview

I applied online for a new site location position, received a call about two weeks later. The recruiter set up a phone interview for later in the week, did the phone interview(recruiter called about 25 minutes late) then set up a second phone interview with HR for the following week(they called about 10 minutes late) after that interview, the recruiter called to request an in person interview near the future site for the following week with the recruiter and the Operations Manager. I arrived about 10 minutes early, another interviewee arrived(we were double booked for the same interview time) 30 minutes after my interview time, they brought the OTHER interviewee in, and then brought me in 15 minutes later(in total, this interview was 45 minutes late). They said they expected to have a decision by mid the following week, but I never heard from them and didn't follow up because I was no longer interested in pursuing a position with TopGolf. The recruiter described the position as being 40 to 45 hrs per week for the first couple of months. HR described it as being 45 to 50 hours per week for the first couple of months. The Operations Manager said the position would be 60+ hours per week for the first couple of months post opening. Also, the Operations Manager had not read my resume, did not know what position I was interviewing for, seemed incredibly bored and tired during the interview and not at all interested in conducting a thorough interview.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Topgolf

      Interview

The first interview was on the phone with the recruiter and it was a fairly standard initial phone screen. The second interview was on the phone as well with 2 individuals from home office, this one was a little more in depth and targeted questions about my experience for the position. The third and final interview was in person with the Director of Operations so it was very comfortable and relaxed, virtually all conversation versus questions and answers.

      Question 1

How you manage having multiple urgent deadlines all at once.

      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Topgolf (Katy, TX) in Nov 2015

      Interview

Very quick. I met with the Manager for an admin position. They like to hire within, so I was already a waitress, and then I was interviewed for an office admin (answering phones) I really wanted to work in the sales office but the manager in there only hires their friends from the rockets.
