I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Toptal (Charlotte, NC) in Mar 2025
Interview
They reached out to me about becoming a Product Manager and basically begged me to consider an opportunity. I took the test immediately with no preparation and was greeted with very technical definitions and specifics about agile methodologies and others in which I did not remember the exact without studying. This whole process was incredibly unprofessional and I would never waste my time with this organization again.

Question 1
They gave me a test which was basically an agile expert test and then told me I wasn’t good enough for the job.
The screen call with the recruiter was odd and uncomfortable. The recruiter said that I need to know each metric I've achieved for every role and company, even if it was 5 years ago. It felt like the recruiter was trying to verify whether I knew every detail of my CV. If I was wrong about any metric or number, this person would point it out

I hadn’t expected a case study to be part of the initial HR and culture-fit round, so I wasn’t fully aware of the next steps in the process after clearing the first stage.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Toptal in July 2025
