I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Total Spectrum in Jan 2016
Interview
I was contacted through email after applying for the position. They scheduled a virtual interview using google hangouts. In the virtual interview I was asked about my experience with kids and autism. The questions were not specific and the interview did not feel serious. The HR representative interviewing me was in her house, not an office. She was very friendly and seemed interested in what I had to say. At the end of my virtual interview, (10-15 minutes), I was offered the job. This seemed kind of unprofessional to me. It felt as if they were hiring anyone who had any experience with kids what so ever. I was sent the paperwork via email, and that was it.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Total Spectrum (Sterling Heights, MI) in June 2024
Interview
The beginning of the interview was mostly behavioral. I think that once you get the interview there is a high chance you align with the job description already. They asked what experiences you have, the typical questions. They then asked hypothetical questions on what I would do in various situations, such as if a child began fighting and climbed up a large structure in anger. A few situational questions to test preparedness.

Question 1
What experience do you have working with children or as a behavior tech?
Super casual and informal, very easy going interview. Asked scenario questions and about experience with kids. Over the phone, and it took about 15 minutes. Very nice interviewer as well.
I applied online. I interviewed at Total Spectrum (Kalamazoo, MI) in Feb 2022
Interview
The interview process did a good job of explaining the job function, but not necessarily the behaviors you'd see. Although this was better covered in training. I did enjoy my interview, training, and position.
