I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at TouchPal (Shanghai, Shanghai) in June 2021
Interview
The interviewer is nice and patient. She would give you chances if you get stuck and she would not interrupt you. She introduced much practical knowledge and gave you instant feedback.

I applied online. I interviewed at TouchPal (Santa Clara, CA) in June 2020
Interview
Really nice interview experience - professionally, fast, and smoothly. Had 3 rounds of interviews with HR, co-worker, and direct manager. Got prompt feedback of each interview within 1-2 business days, and had my offer within 2 weeks.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1st round HR asked general questions about past experience in marketing & paid media. 2nd round with a co-worker that would directly work with, asked questions about team collab & basic understanding of paid media channels. 3rd round with direct manager, had more detailed discussion on paid media strategies.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at TouchPal (Mountain View, CA) in Oct 2020
Interview
Spoke with 3 people, and was expecting a fourth call.
Despite positive reception and easy (but quite lengthy) editing test, and following up twice with the main interviewer and once with the initial recruiter, not one of the 3 people I spoke with had the decency to let me know I was no longer being considered for the job.
Also, the interviewer was young and could barely drive the interview. It just wasn't a professional experience, despite the job itself sounding like a good fit. It also seemed like they want to get a free 3k-word edit out of everyone they interview--free work.
Also, it is weird that there are 3 different companies to try and research here. Touchpal is who I applied to, and is the HR team, but Cootek is the parent company and VitalTek Inc. is the actual company you'd be working for.
Bottom line is that they should have followed up after how far I got into the process. It's not that hard to say "Sorry, we've moved on to other candidates."
