      Pricing Analyst Interview

      20 Aug 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Franklin, TN
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Tractor Supply (Franklin, TN)

      Interview

Applied online, simple enough. Took roughly a month for them to get back to me. Pretty long and semi-unprofessional considering the position wasn't something in a senior role, but whatever. Then the absolute craziness started. I wasn't sure if I was interviewing for a job or joining a cult. The interview lasted 2 hours+, I met with like 5 or 6 different people. ALL, I mean ALL of them pushed their stupid company culture. Everyone except one of the technical guys asked completely irrelevant questions. The HR guy was a complete lunatic. I legitimately felt embarrassed when I was forced to sit there watching him struggle to read his prepared speech. I cannot stress this enough, they are crazy about pushing their company culture. They talk as if it is the second coming of Christ. Having a good company culture is great, but it's definitely getting in the way of things over there. People interviewing me seemed stressed too, like they were scared at any moment someone is going to run in and fire them for not upholding the "company culture". They told me how they'll interview more people and eventually let me know. I said, okay. Went about working my other job and applying other places. Sort of forgot about the Tractor Supply job. A month later, they call me up and tell me they would like to offer me the position. Get this, for 35k, I actually laughed on the phone and the idiot on the other end thought I was laughing with joy. I'm certain I even put during the application process I was looking for at least 60k. Had to explain I make a decent amount more at my current job and I appreciate the offer but I'm not interested for that amount. "Oh okay, how would 37k sound?" Seriously. What? It's not like I'm fresh out of college or have no experience, just a laughable experience. Maybe mine was unique and I just happened to get a daft HR person. I guess.. just be prepared if you apply at the corporate location in Franklin, TN. I put Interview Difficult as, "Very Difficult" just because of the time it took. If someone was actually waiting and hoping for a job at the corporate location then that would suck if you ultimately didn't get it. Waiting at least 2 months+ for a run of the mill corporate job not paying top dollar is crazy. Lots (I mean LOTS) of better options in the greater Nashville area.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

It's been a while, but they asked me like 500 questions about that stupid Personality Quiz they had me take. Completely irrelevant to the job. "It says here that you're really analytical, would you say that is accurate?" - "it says here that you like being right, is the accurate?" goes on and on.

      Interview

3 - 4 phone interviews. Then a 3 - 4 on site interviews with multiple people. Also had to take a D.I.S.C assessment. Was surprised they shared the results with me, weird to be asked questions on how accurate I thought the assessment was,
