First they ask some basic questions when you hand in your application called a screening. This is your chance to get their attention with answers to questions like "why Trader Joe's?". If they like you and your availability they will call you back for an interview. If not you will get a letter in the mail.

I was not hired! It was a new store so it was a very competitive position. I was emailed the day after my application, but denied shortly after the call. I am under the assumption that this location prefers experienced people.
