I applied in-person. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Trader Joe's (Florham Park, NJ) in Oct 2013
Interview
I went online and filled out TJ's application and brought it into the store along with my personal resume and cover letter. Once there a mate (manager) asked me a few questions like why I wanted to work at TJ's and how flexible my availability is. This took less than 5 minutes. They said they would review my resume and call me back for a second interview.
A few days later I received a call asking me to come in and interview with the store's captain.
This interview lasted about 15 minutes. At the conclusion of this interview, I was told they would call me in back within a week letting me know either way. About a week later I was called back and offered the position.

Question 1
I was asked what my past experiences were, why I wanted to work at TJ's, and if I could handle job that has a high physical demand every day.
The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Trader Joe's (Sterling, VA) in Aug 2024
Interview
I was not hired! It was a new store so it was a very competitive position. I was emailed the day after my application, but denied shortly after the call. I am under the assumption that this location prefers experienced people.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Trader Joe's (Cleveland, OH) in July 2018
Interview
Submitted an application in person. The manager who accepted the application asked me about favorite Trader Joe's products. Later received a call asking if would like to interview. Was interviewed by two managers, fairly low key but professional.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Trader Joe's (New York, NY) in Dec 2017
Interview
Rigorous process. 2 separate interviews first with a manager and the final with the store captain. Overall the process took about 2 weeks. But also took a little bit to hear back from when I dropped off my resume.
