I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at TransUnion (Chennai) in May 2019
Interview
One of the worst Interview Process that I have attended. I attended on May 2019 in Chennai. I got call from a Consultancy for this opportunity and HR from Trans Union sent an email to come by 10 AM sharp. I was at their premises 9.55 AM. They had called for guys from Production support and Web Automation testing (Selenium). They were only calling the names from Production support skill and not automation testing. They kept us waited till 2 PM. I am not really sure why they ask us to come by 10 AM on a weekday and they do interview after their Lunch.
Finally I was called at 2.25 PM for interview. The interviewer started with a question related to API Webservice Automation even though my expertise was Web Automation using Selenium... (Not sure what the Role they are looking for a given day. When I was waiting for the interview in the main hall, we had conversation with other candidates and everyone are Selenium Automation testers). I told the interviewer that I have experience Web Automation Testing only. Then just for sake, he asked me questions that I have shared below and asked me to leave for the day, even though I have answered correctly. When I was answering for his questions, he was not really listening to my answers but was busy typing something on his laptop.
To all the interviewers & company Management : Do not think the candidates are some random junks. They put up a lot of hard work for interview preparation and spend some money for transportation. Listen to them and give feedback atleast on the next day.
I never expected this from a big Product based company like this and I won't got there once again.
The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at TransUnion (Cork) in July 2017
Interview
Trustev! (Cork , Ireland)
Firstly, I was contacted by a recruitment company who asked about my experience and salary expectation. Then I got the telephonic conversation with the Development manager and the team lead. They asked me all sorts of technology used and the projects worked so far. It went for 30mins. Next day,. I got a call from recruiter that they wanted to have Face to face interview. They again asked all sorts of projects worked so far. Asked incomplete and open questions . Face to face was with the development manager and qa engineers. QA
(senior 5-7 yrs) experience repetitively asked if I had done manual testing, which I declined. After getting doubt, I asked them if role is pure automation or manual is also involved, which they said that only 20% manual, rest automation.( I had done total experience of 3 yrs in test automation and wanted to switch only because they advertised the job position with cutting edge technologies using Azure etc.). After an hour of useless questions , interview got over. 2-3 days later ,I got the offer which I accepted. But after going there, I felt there was no system in place, around 50-70% manual. Old automation code is not maintained and of poor quality, so for new release, need to re-write the code. When I asked my manager about more than 50% manual testing ,that during interview, he said 20% manual only, then manager only said, 'it is what it is'." Manual is also important"..blah blah. I changed my previous company to this company in hope of using latest technology, but I was hugely disappointed. Since I wanted to focus on doing Automation, I left this company few weeks back. In new company, I am using great new tools with better salary. So, if anyone is going to have an interview here...make sure you ask the right question and agree before hand, else, you would be stuck and disappointed like me. For laid-back and easy going, this is the good company to go.
