Interview
Thought id give back to this forum as I had found reading up on the Flight centre section for usual enough.
Applied at the start of the week and received an email regarding a quick telephone interview. I was to select a time and somebody would call me from Flight Centre. Easy enough interview, questions like what you did in the past, prior cash handling experience, what you know about travel money/flight centre? All this is about 5mins and I had pass to the next stage which would be the group session at the end of the week. Before the group session I had to complete an online psych test and maths section also....Straight forward stuff answer as best as you can.
Come group session day - there was only around 11 of us..... ranging from uni students to people with some customer service experience. First thing we did was watch a video about Flight Centre and a little more information about the pay structure - 36k pa + comission + super the speaker said at a minimum $43k for the first year. Same structure of the travel consultants.. have to work to pay off Cost of Seat before your commision can really add up.
1st Activity - Pair up with another person on your table and try to sell them to the group.
2nd Activity - A numeracy test - straightforward adding/subtracting of amounts.. some currency conversions like if customer had £500 if the AUD/GBP rate is 0.46 how much would customer have in AUD. While we were doing the test, the recruiters would also call your name to do a role playing of a customer and a fx consultant. We didnt have to know any products really... they just wanted to see how you would go about your role as a consultant, what questions you asked, if you fulfilled the customers need or not eg. cross sell.. cash passport???
After this the recruiters would mark your math test and the culling starts. They said they were going to split the group into 3 groups, 1 group went to another room where the travel money oz leaders were in and the other 2 groups stayed where they were really... so im guessing they didnt do the next stage.
The last stage was the behavioural interview if you got selected. The travel money oz leaders were the in room just as observers and one of the recruiters asked all the questions.. There were 4 people left and we got asked 3 questions taking in turns to answer.
questions like when did you over and beyond did your work? how did you perform understand pressure and outcome... etc etc
That was it 9am - 12pm the recruiters said our references would be checked and they would come back to us in 2-3days.
good luck everybody.
2 Online interviews, phone interview then job offer. Generic interview questions asked about experience. A focus on mathematics skills. Very nice interviewers and a smooth process. One of the easier interviews out there.
