I applied online. I interviewed at Travelnest in July 2025
Interview
Process was straightforward. It involved an initial pre-screening call with the team manager, then a culture and values interview with the team manager again and then the third round would have been a call with the team manager and someone from the senior leadership team. Was asked about what tech software I am proficient in, an example of some technology I had taught myself and an example of when I had given a peer some feedback.
Initial screening call, followed by system design questions with two senior engineers. Had an engaging chat and reviewed side projects I've completed, discussing technical challenges, solutions, and relevant skills demonstrated.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Travelnest (Edinburgh, Scotland) in Aug 2024
Interview
First stage was a chat with the Engineering Manager just going over previous experience.
Second stage was a culture interview going over the usual culture questions to make sure it was a good fit for both sides.
Third/Fourth stage was a take home test followed by a 2 hour Tech Interview that consisted of chatting through your solution to the take home test and then a systems design portion.
I was asked if I could move the Tech Interview closer as they wanted to fill the positions quickly. Which I did, having to take a holiday from work to accommodate.
After the interview I had a wait of 6 days, ridiculous considering they wanted to move quickly. I then received a generic email stating they no longer wanted to move forward with the advertised position. No feedback given, no reason given. I then asked for them to clarify how they could ask me to move up my interview date to suit their timelines only to then have the role pulled. No response. Very unprofessional. If this is how they treat prospective employees I would avoid them at all costs!
