I applied through an employee referral. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Trek Bicycle
Interview
The selected panel of interviewers was welcoming and pleasant. Genuine two-way discussions. The process was awful. Weeks between correspondences. Nearly 2 months in total, followed by an auto generated rejection after dozens of interviews.
They got back to me quickly. The first interview was a recorded video and you were given 3 prompts to answer in a minute or so with a 30 second prep time. The phone interview was good with the head engineer but he seemed like he wanted to hire someone who wasn't an intern, he had little interest in teaching someone.

Question 1
What is a personal project you completed and why did you do it?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Trek Bicycle (Waterloo, WI) in July 2014
Interview
Very friendly. Open Discussion. Met with entire engineering team. Overall it was fairly smooth. HR was good with keeping in contact during the process. They mostly want to see if you will mesh well with the team.
