      IOS Developer Interview

      11 Dec 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at TribalScale

      Interview

The interview process was a pleasure. The entire interview was pair programming, which was a great experience and the developers I worked with were great. The in-house recruiter (who reached out to me on LinkedIn and was ultra responsive via email) did not reach out to me to let me know whether a got the job or not. Further to that, he did not even respond to a polite follow-up email sent to him the following week asking for updates on hiring process. I found this to be very unprofessional and discourteous. A surprising contrast to most everything else and it really soured me on the whole experience. TribalScale had seemed like a great company but I have yet to encounter such unprofessionalism with any other company, across multiple industries.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

Had to implement a Set using only primitive types and write test cases (language agnostic portion written in Java)
      Answer question

      Question 2

Going through an iOS app and finding various issues in a simple app which communicated with an API and displayed information in a collection view.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TribalScale (Toronto, ON)

      Interview

Applied Online > Phone Interview > Pair Programming On Site > iOS Specific Pair Programming On Site > Didn't even get a response after spending hours at their office writing code with other engineers. Please don't waste your time to interview with this company because they don't care enough about to even respond to candidates after inviting them to their office twice! There are lots of companies in Toronto which will treat you like a human, so do not waste your time!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      Pair Programming mainly.

      IOS Developer Interview

      19 June 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at TribalScale (Toronto, ON)

      Interview

Initial phone call with recruiter, then a 1 hour in-person technical interview at their Toronto office. Interviewed with only one team member who had been there for a little more than a year. Briefly discussed personal background, then asked iOS questions including: categories, auto layout, etc.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

Palindrome question. Given a string, return true if its a palindrome, ex. "abba" = true, "abcba" = true

      Question 2

FizzBuzz. Given a loop that counts upwards to X, print "Fizz" if the number is divisible by 3, "Buzz" if its divisible by 5, "FizzBuzz" if divisible by both, otherwise print the counter value. Then complexity is added when you are asked to introduce new words like "Guzz", "Muzz", etc for different values. Order matters (you'll never have "BuzzFizz")
