      Sales Marketing Interview

      30 Mar 2012
      Anonymous employee
      Austin, TX
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Trigger Point (Austin, TX) in Jan 2011

      Interview

I had a phone interview and was told about how cool the company was and the exponential growth and I didn't answer more than 2 questions. The person I had the phone interview with was fired before my 1 on 1 a week later. When I came in to the office I waited for an hour before the CEO met with me. In that time I watched people line up outside the CEOs door and talk about "going to see the principal." it made me nervous. The CEO and I met for my interview but he didn't ask me any questions. He talked about the company he built, the products he created and the people he helped every day. He talked for 30 minutes about company culture and how he is an extreme athlete that needed products to help him stay at an elite level. I smiled and nodded and then his admin told him he was late for a call and he shook my hand and told me how busy he was and that I should be ready to drink from a fire hose. I started the next Monday only to find out that I was replacing the person I had the phone interview with and that there was no real training because people sink or swim at Trigger Point. I am happy I left that place. it is like a boat with a hole in it and the captain sits inside his cabin admiring the fact he is on his boat in the middle of the ocean instead of looking around to see the reality or listening to his crew trying to fix the boat.
