Had a pretty misleading experience overall. 3 interviews total. 1 with HR which went well and they liked me a lot. 2 with hiring manager. Similar situation. Good vibes they seemed to want to make the company seem like a great place to work. 3 panel interview with team members and hiring manager. Went decently and they seemed to also want to paint the place as a good spot to work and connected well with the panel overall. Obviously this doesn’t necessarily mean they want to hire me, but the following part of the process is what really confused me. However, about a week after the last interview I got a “hey we are working on good news for you. Stay tuned and let us know if you have another offer” email and I was pretty excited. About 4 or 5 days later I followed up to then hear “actually we changed the position and aren’t moving forward with you.” Would suggest not to hint or tell potential candidates that you are working up an offer for them if you aren’t really sure.
