1. They reached out and asked me to submit my CV and some sample work I have done
2. First interview was with Team Lead Direct Investments. They asked about my experience, expertise, and what would I bring to the role. The interviewer was pleasant and it was conversational
3. Next was with the Founder and Head of Direct Investments. They were more interested in my knowledge of the market, investment process, and my ideas of the future. This is more technical than the first as you had to have a grasp on the challenges facing the market, and understanding the current trends.
4. Next was a 3-hour case study split into two parts. The first one asked to assess an investment opportunity and determine whether it was a "yes" or "no" based on the information provided. The second part was to build a debt schedule with a revenue waterfall. It required more time than was given. I understand the purpose was to see whether you can build an energy debt model, but it doesn't reflect real world situations. The test is disguised as a case study, but was geared towards testing Excel skills. I was looking forward to a case study that challenged my thought process such as the first part (which is what the role is about) than my knowledge of excel shortcuts.
