Application
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at TruGreen (Ankeny, IA) in Apr 2016
Interview
I applied through the company website, was contacted and was asked to come in and interview with the sales manager. Basic questions, wanted to see if you would be there for a longer period of time and take the job seriously. It helped that I told him my goal that I wanted to hopefully advance into the sales manager role in the future. He asked me to come back for a second interview with the GM there. Basically the same thing, just wanted to talk and see me in person. A day or two after I was called and offered the postion.

Question 1
Where do you see yourself in 5 years in your career?
I applied online and received an online assessment. I was contacted by a staffing manager in AL to schedule an initial interview with Sales Manager at the branch.
I arrived at the branch and was directed to sign a sheet with my name and time. The list had to have had AT LEAST 15 candidates. I saw some new hires taking tests in the office room semi-boiler room type setting with different sales strategies posted and a whiteboard with weekly results.
The guy looked a little young however; he boasted on his experience with TruGreen and was not professional at all but made the experience more candid. The manager was obviously impressed but a potential candidate with previous success selling but made his objective clear which I respected. The initial interview is really a pre-screen to eliminate candidates with criminal background and individuals that are deemed a poor fit. The second interview most likely with a General Manager is behavioral-based with numerous of Situation Task Action Response questions that you will use from previous job, volunteer, personal life experiences.
