I had three interview rounds.
The first interview was with HR and it went fine. After that, HR sent me a test on Godzilla.
A few days later, they scheduled a technical interview with two of their employees. The technical interview went very well. It was supposed to be one hour, but it lasted almost two hours.
After a few more days, they sent me an invitation for a system design interview, which ended up being the worst interview I’ve ever had.
At first, they sent the invitation without any details, so I thought it would be a normal Q&A or discussion. Then HR emailed again to clarify that we needed to move the interview by one day because they were supposed to send me a document for the interview. It turned out to be an exercise that I had to complete and prepare a design document for, to be discussed during the interview.
I accepted and completed the exercise.
I expected the interview to be a discussion about my design, but it wasn’t. They asked me to start explaining whatever I wanted, so I did.
However, I didn’t get any attention from the interviewers at all. There were two of them: one was just watching silently, and the other, the one who was supposed to discuss with me, kept leaving the call several times and wasn’t paying attention. I think he was busy working on something else. I was very disappointed because it felt like the decision was already made before the interview even started.
He also mentioned “hyper mode” being 3 days from the office and 2 days from home, which contradicts what HR told me earlier. HR explained that hyper mode happens per month, not every week.
