      Branch Manager In Training Interview

      12 Feb 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Orlando, FL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Truly Nolen (Orlando, FL) in Feb 2016

      Interview

The process took 2 months! It was grueling. I felt I was applying for the CEO position. Early in the process I knew I would never accept a position with this company but I went ahead with the interview process anyway in the event my current sales position didn't work out. They made me take 4 online tests during the process. All had little or nothing do due with the position I was applying for! Algebra for a pest control MIT position?? Really? My wife and I laughed at this process. Finally, after 2 months they asked me to come into the Orlando office to complete a Skype interview with executives out of state. All were arrogant and cocky. It ook all the willpower I could muster not to walk out. One of the questions....If I could delete one state in the USA which state would it be and why? What the heck kind of question is that for a Pest Control Company MIT position? These people we're negative and twisted. In the end I was not offered a position. I'm not bitter at all as I am currently working in a sales position making twice the amount of money that was on the table with this company. Do yourself a favor and Steer clear of Truley Nolen.

      Question 1

What is the part of your personality do I dislike most? If you could eliminate one state in the USA which state would it be and why?

      Interview

Recruiter called me we spoke shortly told me that I was exactly what they were looking for set me up with a district manager to interview in person. District manager tells me he wants to hire me and need to do one more interview. He has been ignoring my emails and phone calls since that day. I guess the culture they say they stand for isn't so true.

      Branch Manager In Training Interview

      7 Nov 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Truly Nolen

      Interview

It seems that Truly Nolen systematically does the same recruiting practices time and time again. I applied online to the advertised position and got a call within two days to come into the local branch and fill out an application. I filled out an application and the next day I was called in for an interview with the Branch Manager. The interview went well and I was asked to come in for a secondary interview the following week. The last interview went well too and I was asked to provide my references and was explained what to expect after that point in the hiring process. It seems it's like previous posters have put here. They fell off the face of the earth after I had contacted them wanting to know if I was still being considered for the position after a week of no communication. This company promotes too much from within contrary to what they claim and seem to want to do by supposedly wanting to recruit from the outside to bring in fresh ideas. I think it obviously operates with the "Good Ole Boy" system. They have to seem to want to interview outside applicants but the position is already promised to someone from within. Please don't waste an applicants time if you already have the position promised to someone. It seems that they are doing this to a lot of people unfairly.

In regards to promoting from within – as an organization we, of course, want to provide a career path to those qualified employees who desire to move up. However, it is a fact that many of our Management Trainee teams are new employees hired from outside our company.
