I applied through university. I interviewed at TuSimple in Feb 2020
Interview
Coded and talked on HackRrank, they gave me one question, I heard Tusimple likes to give hard question, even for intern. The question they gave has too much information, the interviewer spent near 10 mins to describe it, It was not easy for me to understand it immediately
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Write two interface functions for a classroom class:
1. int sit(): find a seat for a student based on several rules(priority , gap, etc.), return the seat number
2. leave(int seatNum): the student in that seat number left
Time complexity required: O(n)
Was asked a coding question. The interviewers weren't helpful and only cared about getting the output. No guidance or hints were given. Did not seem like a good fit for me.
Applied online, recruiter reached out. Did two 1-hour interviews, mainly about C++ and operating system concepts with coding questions like leetcode. Used another company's offer to expedite the process. Recruiters are responsive and friendly.
