      Software Developer Interview

      13 June 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TunnelBear (Toronto, ON)

      Interview

I was approached by their staff for an interview. Had a 30 minute phone interview, then 2 office interviews. The 1st office interview was half-technical, the 2nd was all technical. Despite thinking that I had done well, liking their interview process, getting a good impression on their product, and gelling with their culture, I was rejected due to reasons unknown. I tried to contact them afterwards for a reason, but silence. Very disappointing. I had a lot to offer on both the product and engineering side, and was excited to get started on a new platform! Perhaps that excitement translated into nervousness for the 2nd interview? A hiring process with the growing flaws of perfectionism and pedantry.

Thanks for taking the time to reflect and review our interview process. Interviewing for a role takes a lot of time and energy and we appreciate the effort you took. I can see why you would feel this was a negative experience since it is only fair to be told why you weren't successful. In regards to not hearing back from the agency who presented you to us, that is not acceptable. If you could please send an email to bearjobs@tunnelbear.com and let us know who the agency was, we will follow-up with them directly.
