I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Turo in July 2022
Interview
- recruiter interview (external)
- technical with EM
- virtual 5h (2 coding, 2 none)
1) Turo still seems to be using Objective C heavily and EM was focused on finding people that "won't come and try to change everything right away"
2) Asked for a seniority pump at the end based on my personal experience and the experience of the interview.
3) got ghosted no decline, tells you a lot about the "culture". Don't take the reviews as truth, it's all the same!
* EM == Engineering Manager *
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Turo (Los Angeles, CA)
Interview
comprehensive, yet understanding. covers lots of areas of a software engineer like system design, api design, algorithms, behavorial, etc. it was good to have different opportunities to show my skills.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Turo in Sept 2024
Interview
Recruiter reached out and sent a coding challenge. Composed of 5 coding questions you have to answer in 1:15 hr. 3 were simple and 2 were leetcode hard and not doable for the time given. Not worth the time and effort because the questions they provide need more time. I rather go to FAANG.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Turo (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2023
Interview
Very easy going. The process was a chat with a recruiter, a phone screen, and then a virtual onsite that was standard (included system design, another coding round, API design, and a behavioral interview). Team was extremely nice, but did not proceed due to low compensation and level did not fit correctly.

Question 1
Phone screen was a common LC medium problem related to intervals.
